It’s hard to believe it’s been three years since we first launched our Marketplace — time sure does fly! We originally set out to provide a one-stop platform where collectors could either purchase rare and unique fountain pens from private collections or find new homes for the ones they already had.

Over three years, we’ve grown the platform into a premier destination that enjoys more than 2,000 daily visitors; we’ve featured more than 1,250 unique writing instruments, and sold nearly a thousand of them. We hear every day that people make it part of their daily routine to check for newly listed fountain pens.

Every week more than 30,000 active subscribers check their email for a weekly newsletter featuring the latest new additions, highlights from our vault, and even a Marketplace special — one particular fine writing instrument we offer at 10% off, which we often display prominently in our fabulous boutique, as well as on our social channels.

Over the years, we’ve also worked to introduce exciting new features to the site.

Make an Offer

One of the first new additions was our Make an Offer button, which enables clients to do precisely that. We always work with collectors to evaluate and appraise new items, and we believe we value them fairly and reasonably when we list them. We know these are rare and often impossible-to-find writing instruments — some are even one-of-a-kind, prototypes, or design samples — and we have forty years of experience when it comes to buying and selling the finest pens.

When our agreements with private collectors allow it, we are happy to entertain offers from enthusiastic collectors hoping to negotiate prices. We try to make each sale fair to all parties — our clients, our collectors, and our boutique — and sometimes we can even negotiate for sales of multiple pens at once.

Pens Wanted

We know. You have a grail. That one fountain pen you have been looking for over the years, but which has eluded you. Maybe it was an exclusive limited edition, or perhaps it’s a fountain pen that was discontinued before you started collecting.

With Pens Wanted, you can let us know what you’re looking for, and we will keep an eye on our newest acquisitions — and you’ll be first to know when we get one in. We’ll even offer you the pen before it gets listed to our site.

Seller Portal

Our most recent update, the new Seller Portal offers users a simple and intuitive way to create a new account, add a new pen (with descriptions and images), and list the pen on our website! You can set the features and the price, decide whether you want to accept offers or not, and when your pen sells we’ll let you know and even send you a shipping label so you can send your item to its new home.

You get 70% of the sale price, minus a flat $12 shipping fee. We try to make it as easy and straightforward as possible!

TPOW Select (Our Concierge Services)

If you have more than a few pens, our TPOW Select Concierge Service is the way to go: you simply send them to us, sit back, and let us do all the work.

After receiving your pens, we’ll first inventory, clean, and evaluate them to get a truly accurate idea of both condition and value. Our customers know our reputation for precision and fairness, and they trust both a fair price and an accurate, honest representation of condition when browsing; all of the pens may be pre-owned, but many have never been inked or used (or even out of the box).

They also appreciate our attention to showcasing fine writing instruments in the best possible light using our professional-grade photography set up. We take extra care in staging, composition, and processing, ensuring images are both eye-popping and accurate; one of our clients even said that their pen had never looked better — including when it had first been purchased, new, right out of the box.

Once we have your pen cleaned and polished, besides posting it on our website, you also reap the benefits of numbers we mentioned earlier. Those 2,000 visitors per day is just the start! Your pens are featured in our weekly newsletter, and we regularly rotate the writing instruments we display so prominently in our fabulous boutique. All of which means your pens stand out to engaged and enthusiastic collectors, and in our experience they often sell more quickly and for higher prices.

The best part about TPOW Select is there’s no fee at all! Once the pen sells, we split the sale evenly with you.

Payments? Buyers get seven business days to ensure their satisfaction with the pen, and then payouts occur twice per month; every payout is sent in the next batch.
