Fisher Space Pen AG-7 - Apollo 11 Limited Edition 50th Anniversary
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, Fisher Space Pen has issued the Limited Edition AG-7 featuring a genuine, authenticated artifact from the Apollo 11 spacecraft. Since 1968, the Fisher Space Pen AG-7 has been issued to astronauts for NASA manned space flights.
The space-flown artifact is “Kapton” foil, a protective thermal insulation for the Command module Columbia. This rare artifact floats in a clear acrylic dome sealed into the end of the pen. This exquisite collectible is further distinguished with a black titanium nitride finish complemented with diamond cut engravings plated with 24 karat gold.
Launched on July 16, 1969, the Saturn V spacecraft carried Commander Neil A. Armstrong, Command Pilot Michael Collins, and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin on the Apollo 11 mission.
On July 20, at, 4:18 pm EDT, while the entire world held its breath, the lunar landing craft named Eagle 1 safely touched down. Armstrong and Aldrin made history, becoming the first humans to stand on the moon while Collins orbited above.
