Welcome to the new realm of luxury interactive miniatures. First came the Samurai—an experiment in sculpture, mechanical engineering, and imagination that shattered the conventions of pen design and set new standards in luxury craftsmanship, inventiveness and technical perfection. Now comes the Viking, the newest instalment in the Montegrappa Warriors family. Fusing Norse history and mythology, it's a super-pen that blurs the lines between accessory, tool and sculpture.
Made to tantalize collectors of objets d’art, military paraphernalia and writing instruments alike, the Viking carries all the hallmarks of its illustrious predecessor: fastidious detailing, avant-garde materials, Power-Push filling, elaborate presentation and posable, action-figure personality.
The Viking is made from burnished sterling silver, with accent overlays of 18K Yellow and rose gold detailing the armor, boots, hair, and beard as well as pearl white hand-enamelled detailing on the winged helmet. Italian leather features in the figure’s tassets as well as the scabbard that sheaths a sterling silver letter-opener styled upon a Norse broadsword.
Limited to 121 pieces—referencing the 121-foot length of the giant Viking longship discovered in 1997, the Roskilde 6—the Viking sports a uniquely engraved 18K gold nib and arrives in a presentation case based on archaeologists’ renderings of the Roskilde 6 carved from durmast oak. The Viking comes packaged with a cap stand, ink bottle, broadsword letter-opener, booklet and certificate of authenticity.
