The Historiador 1519 limited edition honors Havana's 500th anniversary (1519 – 2019) with just 500 pieces available. The case design is inspired by an original, historic Cuervo y Sobrinos design from the 1950’s. The 1519 edition is destined to become of the most iconic and sought-after watches in Cuervo y Sobrinos' history.
The outstanding, blue, central art déco inspired “guilloché” decoration of the dial is a replica of an original model of the 1940’s. The 24 hour GMT time indication—an extremely useful complication for travelers—is referenced by a golden key shape (part of the Cuban flag heraldry) symbolizing the “Key of the New World”.
An oscillating weight reproduces the 3 castles of the Cuban flag. The 3 castles represent the original castles that used to defend the city of Havana.
The Historiador range is characterized by its classic, timeless elegance, the simplicity of its forms, and the vintage style inspired by the 1950's. Each watch in this collection is a near replica—with a modern twist—of a historical Cuervo y Sobrinos model. Every piece transports you to the magic of exotic lands, exuding the essence of a distant, elegant past while telling you the story of its Latin soul.
