The Montblanc Meisterstück "Czar Nikolai I" rollerball pen is a luxurious writing instrument that pays homage to Russian imperial design and the opulent use of malachite. Launched around 1996, this pen typically comes in two main versions: one with a gold-plated (vermeil) sterling silver barrel and another with a platinum-plated barrel.


A defining feature across both versions is the vibrant green malachite stone that adorns the cap. Malachite was chosen for its significance as the stone of the Russian Czars, adding a regal touch. The barrel often features a finely detailed pinstripe or ribbed pattern, enhancing the sophisticated aesthetic. The Montblanc emblem, the iconic white star, is inlaid at the top of the cap.
