With a press of a button, the mechanisms are activated, allowing you to fill your pen by twisting the piston. When it's full, simply press the button again to render the mechanisms immobile.

The Mystery Filler utilizes Pineider's twist-lock magnetic cap with a marine steel goose quill clip.
