Platinum's Classic ink line is created using traditional iron gall formulas. While modern iron gall inks are gentler than their vintage counterparts it is still recommended that you clean out your pens every 3-4 weeks just to be safe.

As these fascinating inks dry, the iron oxidizes, darkening the ink into an off-black color right before your eyes.
