Utilizing painstaking traditional techniques the Nippon Art line pays homage to the legacy of Namiki writing instruments.  In using the method of Hari Maki-e, a practice that requires the utmost skill and patience, Namiki has ensured that every writing instrument produced in this line will be a treasure to any who possess them.

The Nippon Art Bonsaiu fountain pen features a gorgeous depiction of the fenghuang, or the "Chinese phoenix," a traditional creature of Sinospheric mythology said to have, "made up of the beak of a rooster, the face of a swallow, the forehead of a fowl, the neck of a snake, the breast of a goose, the back of a tortoise, the hindquarters of a stag and the tail of a fish."  It is believed that the bird only appears in areas or places that are blessed with utmost peace and prosperity or happiness.

This Yukari-sized pen has a 14k gold nib in size #10, fills via cartridge/converter (a CON-70 is included), and comes packaged in a wooden box. Each pen takes months to create.

Orders below $150 will be charged the carrier rate calculated at the checkout.   Most orders are shipped within 1 business day.  Once your order ships, we will e-mail you a tracking number so you may track it at UPS.com or USPS.com. Please note transit times do not include weekends and holidays and deliveries only occur on business days.

We do offer express shipping.  Please note express orders will be shipped out within 1 business day.  Transit time begins when the order ships and does not include holidays and weekends.  Some products are not able to ship express.

The recipient will be responsible to pay any duties or taxes.
