The name ELMO has a rich history, first appearing in 1912 as part of the Elmo-Montegrappa company, Italy's oldest pen factory. Named after one of its founders, Heinrich Helm, the Elmo name was later used to distinguish prestigious pens made from celluloid and other precious materials. After several decades, the name was re-launched by Montegrappa for a new collection.

The Elmo Asolo is a modern reproduction of a 1940s Elmo model, crafted from a special resin with a brilliant blue and green marbled effect that evokes the look of marble stone. The name "Asolo" is derived from a medieval village surrounded by the lush greenery of the Treviso Hills, reflecting the pen's color palette. Light and well-balanced, this pen features sterling silver rings and a clip, and is equipped with an 18ct solid gold nib. The Elmo collection successfully revives the name with a beautiful and well-crafted pen that pays homage to its heritage.
