Waldmann Dame Of Swan Court | Agatha Christie - Fountain Pen Set
Every so often there are products, pieces of art, or in this case, pens, that come along that change the course of an industry forever. Waldmann, with the introduction of Dame of Swan Court, has done such a feat!
Waldmann and SEKRÈ International are proud to debut this new, limited pen set featuring pieces of a letter from Agatha Christie. Each box is custom-made to display the letter, bottle of ink, and pen in an incredible fashion. Each piece of this limited edition combines a distinctive and unique piece of writing culture and literary history. Every component is made of solid 925 sterling silver, including the clip, grip section, and cap band.
The Dame Of Swan Court fountain pen set is limited to 38 sets.
The number of sets in this edition is dependent on the size and condition of the original artifact. Each luxury fountain pen set of our collection 'Famous English Crime Writers‘ is a unique object.
Together with the artifacts firmly embedded in the case, every set forms a closed thematic unit.
ONLY A FEW PEOPLE WORLDWIDE ARE MASTERS OF THIS CRAFTSMANSHIP
More than ten different specialists were involved in the production of this fountain pen set, including precision mechanics, engravers, silversmiths, and carpenters. They have gained their in-depth knowledge over decades of professional activity and constantly refined it. This comprehensive know-how is passed on from generation to generation.
Developing this extraordinary fountain pen set took more than two years. The entire manufacturing process was tested again and again with different materials and processing methods. We were only prepared to start the actual realization in sterling silver after every detail had reached perfection. This means more than 130 work steps and a meticulous final inspection for each individual fountain pen.
Passion for perfection is what defines Waldmann‘s corporate DNA, with a tradition that goes back over a hundred years. It also characterizes the approach of our partners, who have been with us for many years. We believe that this is the only way to create high-end luxury made in Germany.
THE MAKING OF THE CASE REQUIRES 62 STEPS
Opening a noble case is a magical moment that creates emotions. This is why the Dahlinger manufactory in the Black Forest was selected to design the case for this exclusive fountain pen set. The company, established in 1871, is now in its fifth generation of family ownership. The family is dedicated to crafting exclusive cases and gift boxes to perfection for luxury and high-quality lifestyle products.
AN INDIVIDUAL NIB FOR EACH HANDWRITING
We polish every single 18k gold nib by hand to achieve the best possible writing comfort. In addition, our fountain pens can be customized to the individual writer‘s style by grinding the nib. You can choose between the following nib shapes when placing your order:
1. Standard grind
The standard nib shape (fine, medium, broad) is characterized by a rounded nib tip. This leads to an even writing pattern with a constant stroke width in any direction. Round-ground standard nibs are particularly versatile and suit a wide range of handwriting and writing styles.
2. Stub
The nib tip is ground into an angular shape, which results in different stroke widths depending on the direction of writing. It creates broader strokes in a vertical than in a horizontal direction. This adds a special character to the handwriting, similar to calligraphy.
3. Italic
The Italic shape is similar to the Stub, but with a more edgy and flatter profile. This results in a clearer contrast between vertical and horizontal strokes. The nib’s edges are less rounded, which requires more practice and control when writing. The Italic shape, however, allows for more precise and sharp-edged strokes.
4. Oblique
The Oblique shape is designed especially for writers who twist their fountain pen while writing so that the writing tip contacts the paper properly. Depending on the writers‘ preference, the shape may be beveled either on the left (LO) or on the right (RO). This shape also allows for variable stroke widths.
5. Architect
In contrast to the Stub shape, the Architect shape creates horizontal lines that are broader than the vertical lines. It is most suitable for persons who draw letters rather than write them. The Architect shape is ground to a specific writing angle, and the edges are rounded for a more comfortable writing experience.
