Based on the same WWI-era model that gave life to 2018's Mia Carissima, this new variant remains faithful to all the tenets of early twentieth century pen design, but is re-engineered to withstand the rigors of modern life. Featuring hard-wearing ebonite, a retractable safety nib, and an eyedropper filling mechanism, this new edition is a faithful replica in every way but one: no leaks.

Recreating 2018's distinguished Mia Carissima silhouette in ebonite required only a relatively simple retooling, but designing a modern safety pen housing without the usual burping and leaking was a challenge that Montegrappa's engineering team was proud to take on.

Thanks to their industriousness, the Mia Carissima Ebonite is a safety pen fit to go anywhere, with an ink capacity far beyond conventional cartridge/converter pens, so your writing missions shall be long and fruitful. It heightens the pleasure of a vintage retractable nib and generous ink reservoir by adding a specially developed sealing mechanism to protect against old-fashioned leaks. The result? A pen that oozes vintage personality and nothing else.

Named after the alpine soldier's salutation, "Mia Carissima" ("My dearest..."), the Mia Carissima Ebonite not only recaptures the materials and form of early-period fountain pens, but also recalls an age when functionality and craftsmanship were inseparable.

Limited to just 100 pieces, the Mia Carissima sports an 18K gold nib and arrives in a canvas-clad, military issue presentation case to accompany you on your journey.
