Monteverde MP1 Woman with a Hat 1905 – Fine Art Series

For more than 25 years, Monteverde USA has been dedicated to blending innovative engineering with distinctive, expressive design. The MP1 Fine Art Series brings this philosophy to life by pairing Monteverde’s first piston-fill fountain pen with designs inspired by celebrated works of art.

The Monteverde MP1 Woman with a Hat Numbered Edition draws inspiration from Henri Matisse’s influential 1905 painting. Recognized for its striking color combinations and lively brushstrokes, Woman with a Hat became an important work in the Fauvist movement, breaking away from conventional approaches to portraiture.

Each pen is individually numbered and showcases the painting’s vibrant colors, bold contrasts, and artistic spirit. A sophisticated, multi-step printing technique brings the artwork to life across the stainless steel cap, while a matching lacquered aluminum blind cap completes the design.

Designed for comfort and reliability, the MP1 features a seamless, transparent grip and barrel that provide a clear view of its generous 2 ml ink capacity. The Lock-It™ piston mechanism is discreetly housed beneath the blind cap to help prevent unintended movement during writing or transport. The front section is permanently integrated into the pen and is not designed to be unscrewed.

At its core, the MP1 is equipped with a high-quality German-made #6 JoWo nib. A plasma-treated feed supports smooth, dependable ink delivery, and the built-in piston-filling system allows convenient filling directly from an ink bottle.

Assembled in California, the Monteverde MP1 Woman with a Hat Numbered Edition is offered individually or as part of a gift set featuring a 15 ml ink bottle or a cylindrical MP1 pen holder. Each option arrives in an elegant paper presentation box, making this edition an appealing addition for fountain pen enthusiasts, art lovers, and collectors alike.
