However, rather than make everything from teak wood, S.T. Dupont developed a special lacquer that allows for digital printing to create a wood-like texture. The Seven Seas features fine palladium detailing, from hubolts and chandlery to coils of the ship’s rope, set against the meticulously-finished wood grain natural lacquer. It also pays tribute to the early days of the Maison S.T. Dupont when master artisans created exquisite trunks and travel cases, often monogrammed, for the world’s elite who travelled by boats and ships.
